Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Senior Care Assistant for Middleton Lodge Care Home in Littleover, Derby. You will join a close-knit team delivering high standards of personal care in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment.

DBS checks and eligibility to work in the UK are required. The role involves monitoring residents, participating in care planning, assisting with medications, supervising staff and serving as a primary contact for residents and families.

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
• 2 years’ experience in a similar care environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Positive attitude and flexibility in duties.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the wellbeing of residents and update care plans as needed.
• Contribute to person-centred care planning and monthly evaluations.
• Support residents with medication requirements.
• Undertake staff supervision and support staff development.
• Act as a key contact for residents, relatives and health/social care professionals.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive , and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff .

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

• Monitoringthe wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any changeimpactingon care and care plans, ensuring that new needs aremet,and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
• Beinginvolved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing,monitoring,and undertaking monthly evaluations.
• Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
• Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
• Actingas a key point for contact with residents, theirrelativesand visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are actedupon,and concerns or complaints are escalated.

Our ideal candidatemust:

• Have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
• Have 2 years’ experience working in similar care environment.
• Have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Have a positive attitude to bothsupporting and nurturing residents and staff.
• Beresponsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.
