Job summary

Penrose Court Care Home in Biggleswade is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to guide and support a dedicated care team in delivering safe, person-centred care for up to 65 residents.

You will oversee daily shifts, coordinate activities, and ensure medication safety, accurate records, and clear communication with families and healthcare professionals to maintain high-quality care standards.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum) with Level 3 desirable.
• Medication administration training with competency is essential.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach.

Situated in the residential area of Kings Reach in the market town of Biggleswade, our private, luxury care home offers several types of care for up to 65 residents.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £14.00 per hour
• Contracted to 44 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

We Are Looking For

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
