Job summary

Buchanan Lodge Care Home in the United Kingdom is seeking a dedicated Senior Care Assistant to lead a shift, deliver safe, high quality, person‑centred care, and make a positive difference for our residents.

You will oversee medication administration, ensure smooth ward operation, maintain accurate care records, and communicate clearly with families and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (minimum)
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach

Responsibilities

Job description

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £14.50 per hour
• Contracted to 33.75 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.
