Job summary

Ashridge Court Care Centre, near Bexhill-on-Sea in East Sussex, is recruiting a Senior Care Assistant to lead a shift and deliver compassionate, person-centred care to residents. The role covers medication oversight, careful record-keeping and close collaboration with families and healthcare professionals.

The position offers full-time, part-time or bank contracts, with paid DBS, pension and uniform. Expect 36–48 hours per week across days and nights, plus generous annual leave and a strong team

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum).
• Medication administration training with competency is essential.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Guide and support the team in delivering safe, high quality, person-centred care.
• Oversee the smooth running of your shift and ensure care is well organised and delivered to a high standard.
• Assist with medication oversight and monitor residents’ wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate care records and communicate with families and healthcare professionals for continuity of care.

Ashridge Court Care Centre is a bright, modern care home near Bexhill-on-Sea, set in the East Sussex countryside with sea views and peaceful gardens. The home provides high-quality general nursing care for up to 51 residents in spacious, well-furnished rooms, with compassionate support delivered with dignity, empathy and respect.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £13.82 per hour
• Contracted to 36-48 hours per week
• Days, Nights & Bank shifts available
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview
As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.
You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.
You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.
We Are Looking For

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
