Job summary

Ashgrove Care Home in Hounslow is seeking a proactive Senior Care Assistant to guide and support a care team delivering safe, high quality, person-centred care to residents.

You will oversee shifts, manage medications, monitor wellbeing and maintain accurate records, while building strong relationships with residents, families and healthcare colleagues.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), Level 3 desirable.
• Medication administration competence essential.
• Experience leading or supporting a care team.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Caring, compassionate, professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care.
• Oversee the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised and delivered to a high standard.
• Oversee medication administration and monitor residents’ wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate care records and communicate with families and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.

About Ashgrove Care Home

Ashgrove Care Home is a 49 bed, purpose built care home located in Hounslow, West London. Providing nursing and nursing dementia care, the home offers a warm and welcoming environment with bright, accessible living spaces, inviting lounges, dining areas and a private garden. Colleagues work together to deliver high quality, person centred care and make a real difference to the lives of Residents every day.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £14.35 to £14.95 per hour
• Contracted to 44 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

We Are Looking For

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach
