Job summary

Ash Tree House Care Home in Hindley, Wigan is seeking a Senior Care Assistant for full-time night shifts. You will guide and support your team to deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred care and manage a shift to ensure consistent, compassionate service.

Responsibilities include overseeing medication, monitoring residents’ wellbeing, maintaining clear records, and liaising with families and healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach

Ash Tree House Care Home in Hindley, Wigan provides residential and residential dementia care for older people. With 60 spacious bedrooms, en suite facilities and landscaped gardens, the home offers a comfortable and welcoming environment. The team focuses on person centred care, supporting residents to maintain their independence and enjoy an active lifestyle.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• Contracted to 38.5 hours per week
• Night shift- 3 on 3 off
• Paid [PVG/DBS], pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

We Are Looking For
