Job summary

Sanctuary Supported Living in Lowestoft is hiring a Senior Care and Support Assistant to lead a team and deliver person-centred care at Clover Court, Lowestoft NR32 1RB. You will support individuals with learning disabilities, build confidence, and promote safety in everyday activities.

The role requires team leadership, safeguarding awareness, and a collaborative approach. We offer valuable training, flexible working, and a supportive environment that values each person’s unique contributions.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading Care and Support teams or supervising staff.
  • Ability to provide person-centred care and support independence.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Care and Support Assistants to ensure customers receive the best support
  • Provide personal care and encourage independence by building confidence and self-esteem
  • Promote safe practices, complete risk assessments and manage safeguarding to keep customers safe
  • Build positive relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Carry out team supervisions
  • Create and update electronic care and support plans
  • Experience supervising people is desirable
  • Recent experience supporting vulnerable people in a similar role
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards it
  • Personalised approach to care with strong interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiastic and flexible approach
  • Strong organisational skills and basic literacy and numeracy
  • Proficient technology/IT skills (Microsoft Office and similar)
