Job summary

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an organised, proactive administrator to coordinate elective cardiothoracic admissions and optimise theatre capacity. You will support the wider team with booking queries and ensure smooth patient flow.

You will monitor pathways to meet RTT standards, verify clinical clearance including PAC outcomes, and collaborate with clinicians and operations managers to deliver efficient scheduling and accurate data tracking.

Qualifications

• Evidence of effective organisation and time management.
• Good IT skills including MS Excel and Word.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Educated to NVQ Level 4 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage cardiothoracic elective admissions across pathways.
• Act as senior contact for elective booking queries and guidance.
• Monitor patient pathways for RTT compliance and delays.
• Ensure clinical clearance and PAC outcomes prior to admission.
• Collaborate with clinicians, booking teams and managers to schedule patients.
• Support data quality and validation processes for patient tracking.
• Contribute to service improvements to enhance patient flow and reduce cancellations.
