Job summary

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Senior Assistant Technical Officer (SATO) to join the Cardio-respiratory team across PRH, RSH, and the new CDC site. The role involves assisting with diagnostic tests, spirometry, and sleep monitoring in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

You will work in a busy department, interacting with patients and staff, and trained colleagues will support you.

Qualifications

• Experience dealing with the general public, ideally in a healthcare setting.
• Excellent IT and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
• Full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering a high-quality Cardio-respiratory service.
• Perform and/or assist with routine cardiological and respiratory investigations.
• Be able to assess contraindications and obtain accurate spirometry results.
• Cover all hospital environments when on site and work independently at the CDC.
