Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Respiratory Clinical Physiologist based at Basildon Hospital. You will join the Pulmonary Physiology, Sleep, and Ventilation Department in the Cardio-Thoracic Centre and lead high-quality diagnostic testing and sleep/ventilation therapies.

The role combines clinical precision with mentoring, service development and data management, in a progressive NHS environment focused on patient-centred care.

Qualifications

• ARTP qualification or equivalent.
• Knowledge & Experience.
• Experience in senior position with administrative exposure.

Responsibilities

• Perform a comprehensive range of basic and complex respiratory investigations for patients across hospital wards.
• Work closely with lead clinicians to facilitate specialist testing and ensure data accuracy.
• Manage patient interactions with a calm, professional approach in high-pressure settings.
• Support the department on non-clinical days with data management, appointments and records.
• Mentor junior staff and students, modelling best clinical and professional conduct.
• Calibrate and maintain diagnostic equipment to NHS safety standards.
