Job summary

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting an Assistant Technical Officer (ATO) in the Cardio, Respiratory and Vascular Department. The role is part-time (32.5 hours per week) and supports a 5-day service across outpatient and inpatient settings.

The successful candidate will assist with Cardio-Respiratory & Vascular Diagnostics, participate in ECG and ambulatory diagnostics, support routine and complex investigations, and help train staff in ECG recording.

Qualifications

• GCSE English Language and Maths or equivalent.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification / experience in a healthcare role.
• Numeric and Literacy Skills.
• Basic IT skills.
• Be competent in performing ECG and ambulatory hook up.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development.
• Be able to respond to unexpected changes and adopt a flexible approach.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing an effective Cardio-Respiratory & Vascular Diagnostic service for inpatients and outpatients.
• Participate in the Cardiac and Respiratory ECG and ambulatory diagnostics service in CRV department and across inpatient wards.
• Assist senior staff in routine and more complex investigations within the department, and provide training to staff in ECG recording.
