Job summary

KIMS Hospital is seeking a permanent senior post in the Cardiorespiratory team to lead echocardiography and support inpatient, outpatient and interventional services. The role works 22.5 hours per week on weekdays, with leadership alongside the Lead Physiologist and consultant cardiologists.

The post requires extensive post-registration echocardiography experience and a degree-level physiology qualification, with a focus on governance, training, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification or equivalent as a trained physiologist.
• Extensive post-registration echocardiography experience.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and day-to-day support across Cardiorespiratory services with the Lead Physiologist and consultants
• Carry out cardiac investigations, including echocardiography to BSE standards
• Support inpatient, outpatient and cardiac interventional services
• Support workforce planning, allocating staff according to patient need and activity
• Support procedures including pacing, angiography, PCI and electrophysiological studies
• Champion clinical governance, quality and patient safety, including regulatory compliance and audit
• Support infection prevention and the development of policies and procedures
• Promote evidence-based practice and a culture of continuous improvement
• Support and develop the team through training and professional development
• Contribute to innovation and change management
