Job summary

United Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Senior CAD Technician to join our T&D engineering team. You will produce and manage 33–400kV OHL drawings, working with design engineers to deliver high-quality client deliverables across the project lifecycle.

Essential experience includes 8+ years in CAD for power infrastructure, strong AutoCAD skills, and familiarity with document control. The role offers hybrid working, career development, and technical training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of CAD experience in an engineering environment with T&D drawings.
• Ability to lead, manage and prepare work packages with minimal supervision.
• Advanced AutoCAD; Civil3D and MicroStation desirable.
• Experience producing T&D related drawings and reading engineering calculations.
• Experience working in a formal document control system.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high quality drawings.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a multi-discipline team.
• Experience mentoring junior technicians.

Responsibilities

• Produce, check and approve engineering drawings to client and UIPTD standards.
• Prepare and update schedules, crossing schedules, and structure position lists.
• Produce as-built drawings after construction and incorporate site mark-ups.
• Convert survey data and PLS-CADD outputs into production drawings.
• Produce drawings in AutoCAD and other CAD tools to client standards.
• QA checks on outputs and assist with GIS data preparation and routing.
