Job summary

United Infrastructure is seeking a Senior CAD Technician to join our T&D engineering team. You will produce and manage 33–400kV OHL drawings, work with design engineers, and deliver client-standard outputs throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires 8+ years of CAD experience in engineering, strong AutoCAD skills, and familiarity with T&D conventions. Hybrid working, development pathways, and training are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of CAD experience in an engineering environment.
• Proven ability to lead, manage and prepare packages of work with minimal supervision.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD; Civil3D and MicroStation desirable.
• Experience of producing T&D related drawings.
• Familiarity with T&D drawing conventions and ability to read engineering calculations and survey data.
• Experience in formal document control systems.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate drawings.
• Good communication and multi-discipline teamwork, plus mentoring experience.

Responsibilities

• Produce and check engineering drawings to client and UIPTD standards.
• Prepare and update schedules, crossing schedules and structure position lists.
• Produce as-built drawings from site mark-ups and RFI outcomes.
• Convert survey data to production-quality drawings using AutoCAD and CAD tools.
• Manage drawing registers and document control procedures within project systems.
• Collaborate with OHL design engineers and attend design meetings.
• Provide drawing QA and mentor junior technicians.
