Huxley, a trading division of SThree, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in London to design, develop and operate real-time, low-latency C++ systems powering European equities trading. You will work on order entry, matching engines and market data distribution.

Qualifications

• Significant professional experience with Modern C++ (C++11/14/17/20)
• Strong understanding of performance optimisation and low-level system design
• Proven track record of delivering features from concept through production
• Experience mentoring or supporting fellow engineers
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience developing and supporting applications within Linux environments
• Proactive, ownership-driven mindset

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and operate low-latency C++ systems across five equities trading environments.
• Own features end-to-end from design through deployment and testing.
• Lead and mentor less experienced engineers and act as a technical expert.
• Investigate and resolve production issues to maintain reliability.
• Shape the team through interviews and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality systems.
