Job summary

Huxley is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop and operate ultra-high-performance C++ systems in a major equities trading environment in London. You will own features end-to-end from concept through deployment, and mentor engineers while working with product stakeholders across Europe.

The role focuses on order entry, matching engines, market data distribution and low-latency infrastructure within a highly collaborative team handling real-time trading workloads.

Qualifications

• Significant professional experience with Modern C++ (C++11 or later).
• Strong understanding of performance optimisation and low-level system design.
• Proven track record delivering features from concept to production.
• Experience mentoring or supporting fellow engineers.
• Experience developing and supporting applications within Linux environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and enhance low-latency C++ applications across five equities trading environments.
• Deliver robust, scalable and production-ready solutions focused on quality and performance.
• Contribute to order handling, matching engines and market data services.
• Own features from initial design through implementation, testing and deployment.
• Mentor and lead engineers; collaborate with product and business stakeholders.
