Job summary

Oliver Bernard is assisting a leading global hedge fund in London to hire Senior C++ Engineers for its technology team. You’ll design and build high-performance, low-latency systems in modern C++ on Linux, working with portfolio managers, quants and researchers to translate ideas into production-ready trading infrastructure.

You’ll own components end to end, profile and tune performance across CPU, memory and networking, and raise engineering standards through code reviews and mentoring.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience in modern C++ (C++17/20) on Linux.
• Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, multithreading and systems design.
• Track record of building performance-critical systems, in finance, big tech, gaming or similar.
• Strong academic background in Computer Science, Maths, Physics or Engineering.
• Clear communication and a collaborative approach.
• Nice to have experience in electronic trading, market data or exchange connectivity; Python for tooling or research.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise low-latency, high-throughput systems in modern C++.
• Work closely with portfolio managers, quants and researchers to turn ideas into production-ready trading infrastructure.
• Own components end to end, from architecture and design through testing, deployment and support.
• Profile and tune performance across CPU, memory, networking and concurrency.
• Raise engineering standards through code reviews, mentoring and best practice.
