Job summary

Selby Jennings's client, a leading global investment firm, is seeking highly skilled C++ engineers for its systematic technology group in London. You will design and optimise ultra-low latency trading components, develop exchange connectivity and OMS capabilities, and work with researchers, PMs, and traders to deliver robust production systems.

The role demands expert C++ (C++20/23), strong knowledge of data structures and distributed systems, and experience with modern languages such as Python

Qualifications

• Strong grounding in algorithms and data structures.
• Expert-level C++ (C++20/23) with Python or Rust experience.
• Proven experience building low-latency, high-throughput systems in production trading.
• Solid networking (TCP/UDP, multicast), Linux systems programming.
• Experience with testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong communication in a fast-paced, distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimise low latency trading components and infrastructure.
• Develop exchange connectivity and OMS features including order routing and risk controls.
• Profile and tune performance for ultra-low latency and high throughput.
• Collaborate with researchers, PMs, traders and engineers to deliver production-ready solutions.
• Maintain high availability and participate in on-call support.
• Evolve the platform by evaluating new technologies and best practices.
