Job summary

Cavendish Nuclear is seeking a Senior Control and Instrumentation Engineer to lead the design, integration and delivery of high-integrity C&I systems across complex nuclear projects. The role offers hybrid work from Grimsby or Hessle with occasional travel to other sites.

You will work within multidisciplinary teams, ensure compliance with safety standards such as IEC 61508/61511, and drive lifecycle management from design through commissioning and handover.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, engineering and delivering control and instrumentation systems in nuclear or other highly regulated industries.
• Strong knowledge of functional safety and nuclear safety standards such as IEC 61508/61511.
• Experience with PLCs, SCADA, DCS and field instrumentation.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and manage client/supplier relationships.
• Experience supporting projects through design, testing, commissioning and lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing and integrating control and instrumentation systems for complex nuclear and regulated projects.
• Ensuring compliance with nuclear safety requirements, technical standards and regulatory expectations.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop innovative technical solutions.
• Supporting testing, verification, commissioning and handover activities for reliable operation.
• Engaging with clients, regulators, suppliers and stakeholders to deliver requirements.
