Job summary

Cavendish Nuclear in the Grimsby/Hessle area is seeking a Principal Control and Instrumentation Engineer to lead safety-critical projects spanning defence, clean energy and critical national infrastructure.

You will provide technical leadership across design, integration and verification of C&I systems, manage interfaces with multi-disciplinary teams and ensure IEC 61508/61511 compliance while enabling hybrid working.

Qualifications

• Experience leading control/instrumentation design in highly regulated industries such as nuclear, defence, energy or process.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams and managing complex interfaces.
• Strong understanding of functional safety standards (IEC 61508/61511).
• Experience managing full engineering lifecycle from concept to decommissioning.
• Expert knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, DCS and instrumentation technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, integration and assurance of control/instrumentation systems across complex projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure interfaces with mechanical, electrical, process, civil and safety requirements.
