Job summary

Siemens Energy is looking for a Senior Buyer in Manchester/Newcastle to support large EPC projects within the Grid Technologies division. You will partner with project teams, manage supplier performance, and align procurement strategies with project timelines, budgets and quality standards.

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the role requires strong negotiation skills, cross-functional collaboration, and travel to supplier sites as needed within a dynamic project environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of procurement experience, esp. large-scale EPC/infrastructure
• Ability to define and execute sourcing strategies
• Strong understanding of commercial terms and supplier contracts
• Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration
• Willingness to travel 10–15% to suppliers/projects sites

Responsibilities

• Act as procurement partner for site infrastructure on large EPC high voltage substation projects
• Ensure procurement processes are executed during bid and execution phases
• Prepare and manage RFQs, including price and terms negotiations
• Define sourcing and supplier strategies aligned with project goals
• Identify and manage supplier risks to reduce non-conformance costs
• Drive procurement excellence and improvements across the function
• Manage strategic relationships with key framework partners
