Job summary

Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Buyer to support Energy on the GGP project, based out of Ollerton. The role involves procuring sub-contractors, developing regional supply chains and delivering value-driven procurement strategies across multiple projects within the regional unit.

We seek candidates with construction procurement experience, NEC familiarity, CIPS accreditation, and strong stakeholder collaboration skills. Travel to sites is required as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience within a procurement role, preferably gained in construction or civil engineering.
• Ideally with Substation or OHL experience.
• Detailed knowledge of work practices and procedures in the construction process from pre-construction to construction.
• Must have NEC experience.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to liaise with staff and external contacts at all levels.
• Willing to travel to site and able to drive.

Responsibilities

• Provide an effective and professional service in the procurement of sub-contractors.
• Provide market competitive procurement solutions demonstrating best value for money.
• Propose procurement strategy for the regional unit and develop the regional supply chain.
• Supply chain management including structure, performance and relationship management.
• Drive continuous improvement of supply chain performance within trades.
• Support group procurement goals within the region.
• Deliver a consistent procurement approach across projects in the regional unit.
