Senior Business Development Manager – Value Add Services

Are you a commercially driven sales leader with a track record in solution selling?

In a nutshell: We are looking for Senior Sales professionals who can demonstrate experience, confidence, solution selling capabilities, teammanship and ambition and drive behavioral change within a company. Ideally you will have experience in solution sales within the Utilities, Water or Energy Industries and be passionate about sustainability.

Our client, a well-established and highly respected business in the utilities sector, is on the lookout for an experienced Senior Business Development Manager to lead the growth of their value-added services portfolio. This is a rare opportunity to shape and drive an ambitious growth agenda across a dynamic customer base and an evolving service landscape.

This senior-level role will report directly to the Director of Sales and play a key role in scaling service solutions across the customer journey, while also unlocking new routes to market through both direct and indirect channels.

You'll collaborate closely with leaders in Customer Acquisition, Water Services, Marketing, and Propositions to drive strategic partnerships and maximise revenue potential.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Own and deliver on a defined sales target for incremental growth beyond the core run-rate business.
  • Develop and execute direct and partner-led go-to-market strategies.
  • Build and negotiate high-value business relationships to secure new revenue streams.
  • Work cross-functionally to align solutions with customer needs and market opportunities.
  • Define lead generation and prospecting strategies in collaboration with Marketing and Communications.
  • Create, maintain, and grow strategic partnerships aligned with the overall sales strategy.
  • Translate customer feedback and market insights into actionable service propositions.
  • Lead on bids, tenders, and proposals, ensuring commercial compliance and strategic alignment.
  • Represent the business at national industry events, acting as a key ambassador.
  • Maintain rigorous CRM and sales process discipline, ensuring accurate pipeline and forecast management.

About You: Experience & Expertise:

  • Proven success in solution selling with a strong track record of exceeding targets across a diverse customer base.
  • Experience negotiating and closing large value contracts and managing senior stakeholder relationships.
  • Skilled in formal sales methodologies, account planning, and development plans.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in selling non-licensed solutions.
  • Established network of relevant industry relationships is a plus.
