This is a 100% new business development role.

Location: Manchester, with 2-3 days in the office and 2-3 days remote (Monday to Friday). 5 days per week.

Job Purpose

The IoT / SaaS Business Development Manager will drive growth within key manufacturing verticals and other sectors by identifying and securing new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and implementing growth strategies tailored to each industry.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Developing new business within manufacturing, food & beverage, hospitality, pharma, government, education, retail, healthcare, Facilities Management, and other sectors through proactive outreach.
  • Following up on marketing-generated MQLs/SQLs and self-generating leads.
  • Building and managing a sales pipeline in CRM, tracking progress, and ensuring accurate forecasts.
  • Conducting needs assessments and working with technical surveyors to recommend tailored IoT solutions.
  • Delivering product demonstrations and managing negotiations to close deals.
  • Achieving revenue targets through customer acquisition and upselling/cross-selling.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and solution fit.
  • Attending networking and trade events.
  • Engaging clients effectively across diverse industries, from managers to C-suite executives.
  • Demonstrating expertise in IoT / LoRaWan technologies and real-time monitoring, including temperature, legionella, energy, and environmental conditions.
  • Adapting strategies to sector-specific demands and utilizing CRM and sales reporting tools.
  • Motivated, flexible, results-driven, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
