Location: Manchester, 2-3 days in office + 2-3 remote (Mon - Fri), 5 days per week.

25 Days holiday + 8 Public holidays

Job Purpose:

The IoT / SaaS Business Development Manager will drive growth within key manufacturing sectors while maintaining flexibility to sell our core IoT / SaaS solutions across other industries. The role involves identifying and securing new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and implementing growth strategies tailored to various sectors that benefit from our solutions. The manager will work closely with internal teams to ensure our offerings meet industry-specific needs.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Target new business opportunities within manufacturing, food & beverage, hospitality, pharma, government, education, retail, healthcare, Facilities Management, and other sectors through proactive outreach (calls, emails, social media).
  • Follow up on marketing-generated MQLs/SQLs and generate leads independently.
  • Build and manage a pipeline in CRM, track progress, and ensure accurate forecasting.
  • Conduct needs assessments, collaborate with technical surveyors, and recommend tailored IoT solutions.
  • Deliver product demonstrations and manage negotiations to close deals.
  • Drive customer acquisition to meet revenue targets and identify upselling/cross-selling opportunities.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure a seamless client experience and that solutions meet requirements.
  • Maintain high client satisfaction through commitments and long-term relationship building.
  • Attend networking and trade events.
  • Engage clients effectively across diverse industries, adapting communication styles from managerial to C-suite levels.
  • Demonstrate expertise in IoT / LoRaWan technologies and real-time monitoring.
  • Understanding of temperature, legionella, energy, and environmental monitoring is advantageous.
  • Adapt strategies to sector-specific demands.
  • Proficiency in CRM and sales reporting tools.
  • Be highly motivated, flexible, results-driven, and capable of exceeding sales targets.
