Location: Ideally based in the Greater Manchester / North West region. UK-wide field role, with one week a month in the Preston office (accommodation covered), plus more time on site in the first two months
Start: January 2027 at the latest (earlier is better)
Contract: Permanent, full time
The Opportunity
We're working with a fast-growing, award-winning IT managed services and technology consultancy that is looking for a New Client Director to lead its next phase of growth.
This is the senior new-business seat in the company. You'll own new-logo growth from the first conversation to a signed three-year agreement. You'll direct a full-time SDR, report directly to the Managing Director and carry the number. When you perform, you'll run new-logo growth as your own business unit, with the autonomy that comes with it.
The focus is new-logo growth only: service, subscription and project revenue from organisations that aren't yet clients.
About the Company
Our client takes a strategic, proactive approach to technology rather than a reactive one. They combine high-quality managed services with embedded strategic leadership, and give clients clear visibility of their service performance and a technology roadmap they help shape.
They're private equity backed, growing quickly in both revenue and headcount, and have picked up a number of industry awards and recognitions over the past year.
Their service is measured and consistently strong, with excellent response times, SLA performance and client retention, and many long-standing client relationships. They specialise in multi-site, always-on environments and work with well-known organisations across a range of sectors.
Your First 90 Days
- Weeks 1 to 2: On site in Preston, learning the services, the tools and the commercial model.
- Month 1: Territory and target-account plan agreed with the MD, with outbound running alongside the SDR.
- Months 2 to 3: First discovery workshops and proposals out, with the MDs alongside you in most new-business meetings.
- Month 4: First new client signed.
What Success Looks Like in Year One
- £670,000 new service ARR. One or two contracts of £100,000 to £250,000, with the rest coming from a steady run of £30,000 to £100,000 deals. These are support contract values only; mature clients typically grow to 2x to 2.5x.
- £670,000 subscription ARR attached to the clients you win.
- £140,000 onboarding and project labour in each new client's first three months.
- A pipeline the MD can read without asking, owned by you and reported weekly and monthly.
What You'll Own
- Hunting. Build and work your own target lists through calls, email, LinkedIn and events. This is front-line work, not a desk role.
- The full sale. Discovery, workshops, proposals, commercials and close, with three-year terms as standard.
- Tenders. Lead RFP and procurement responses with the technical and service teams.
- The SDR. Manage a full-time SDR, who earns a larger share of commission when they support you through the sale.
- Company marketing. There's no marketing team, so you'll oversee and run marketing, with vendor funding and MDF at your discretion.
- Relationships. Host clients and prospects at dinners, drinks, events and industry occasions.
- Handover. Up to three months of account strategy through onboarding, then a clean transfer to account management.
- The team rhythm. Join the morning kick-off and the weekly enablement session, and support account managers when asked.
- How you sell. Learn and deploy AI and automation across prospecting and pipeline, and help shape the company's own GTM platform as it's built.
What You'll Have Behind You
- A full-time SDR
- ZoomInfo with near-uncapped data, QuickMail, LinkedIn automation and HubSpot
- An in-house GTM orchestration platform (in build), joining those tools into one governed engine
- An in-house software and AI team whose automation gives you live evidence to sell with
- AI licences, plus professional and technical services capacity to run one client workshop a quarter
- Senior cover through ramp-up, with the MDs joining most new-business meetings in your first three months
- Access to a leadership development programme and network
- Strong existing industry relationships that, worked well, open doors
About You
Required
- Five or more years in B2B sales, consistently over-delivering against new-business targets (you'll be asked for the numbers)
- Carried a new-business target of £500,000+ ARR in at least one recent year
- Regularly closed contracts of £50,000+ annual value (£150,000+ over three years), sold to finance, operations or executive leaders
- Experience selling technology services such as managed services, IT consultancy, cloud or security
- A pipeline you generated yourself, from cold, not only inbound
- Ideally based in the Greater Manchester / North West region
- Able to travel UK-wide and occasionally abroad, including overnight stays and back-to-back days away
- Full UK driving license
How you work
You diagnose before you prescribe. You think strategically and follow technology because you want to, not because the role asks you to. You're polished in a boardroom and good company at dinner. You run your own diary, pipeline and forecast. You move fast, tell the truth about your deals, and put in the hours when a deal needs them.
The Honest Part
Please read this before you apply:
- New-logo only, with no account management after handover
- High expectations, measured weekly. Pressure comes with the seat
- Nationwide travel and occasionally further
Package
- Uncapped commission, earned on new service ARR, subscription margin and project labour (full plan shared at interview)
- On-target earnings of c.£172,000 at plan
