South Gloucestershire Council is seeking a Buildings Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary team of building surveyors and M&E engineers. You will ensure delivery of capital projects, maintenance programmes and reactive works within budget, while enhancing asset performance and statutory compliance.

The role focuses on proactive asset management, contractor oversight, reporting to elected members and ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 and the Building Safety Act.

Qualifications

• Degree in building, surveying or engineering with a recognised professional qualification.
• Extensive technical knowledge across building surveying and M&E.
• Experience leading technical teams and managing service delivery.
• Public sector procurement and budget management experience.
• Knowledge of Building Regulations, Building Safety Act and related legislation.

Responsabilités

• Provide leadership and development for a team of six direct reports.
• Oversee day-to-day building fabric and M&E RM, manage service contracts within budget £750k.
• Deliver value-for-money initiatives to improve estate performance and reduce costs.
• Lead M&E elements of schools R&M programme and corporate estate budgets.
• Prepare and present operational reports and technical advice to elected members.
• Support management of operational risks and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance under CDM 2015 and Building Safety Act.
