Portsmouth City Council is seeking an experienced Building Safety Officer to support the Fire and Building Safety Manager across council housing stock, commercial properties and private sector housing regulation. You will advise on building safety, provide technical reports, and coordinate with external consultants to ensure safe, compliant buildings.

The role requires a degree in building surveying, fire safety or construction, membership or progress toward IFE, a Level 4 Fire Safety Diploma,

Competenze

Degree in building surveying, fire safety or construction subject.
Level 4 Fire Safety Diploma.
Level 6 Building Safety Management Diploma (or working towards).
Strong knowledge of Building Safety Act and related regulations.
Experience with high-rise buildings.
Proficient with MS Office and project planning software.
Ability to interpret complex drawings (AutoCAD).

Mansioni

Assist Fire and Building Safety Manager on building safety matters.
Provide advice to housing and other directorates on housing and commercial assets.
Prepare high-quality written and verbal reports.
Coordinate with external consultants across feasibility to completion.
