Portsmouth City Council is seeking an Assistant Fire Risk Assessor to join Building Services within the Building Safety Team. You will deliver fire risk assessments across the portfolio and support fire safety functions.

You will assess properties, advise on remediation actions and contribute to ongoing safety improvements. The role requires Level 3 Fire Safety qualifications (NEBOSH) and IFSM Associate membership with active CPD, plus experience in residential and corporate premises.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Fire Safety / Fire Risk Assessment (NEBOSH Certificate)
• Associate grade membership with the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM) with ongoing CPD
• Experience completing fire risk assessments for buildings including residential (under 18m) and corporate premises
• Strong communication, organisation, and ability to prioritise and manage multiple demands
• Full driving license and use of a car for travel across PCC Housing areas

Responsabilités

• Deliver Fire Risk Assessments and support in Fire Safety functions across the portfolio
• Assess properties and use technical knowledge to aid remediation and completion of risk actions
• Communicate findings to internal stakeholders and customers with clarity and professionalism
• Maintain stock/database records and support continuous improvement of fire safety processes
