Job summary

Portsmouth City Council is seeking an aspiring Fire Risk Assessor to support Fire Risk Assessments and Fire Door inspections across housing and corporate properties. You will contribute to remedial actions and engage with customers and contractors to ensure safety standards are met.

The role requires a Level 3 Fire Safety qualification pathway, strong communication, organisation, and the ability to work as part of a team, with a driving licence for site coverage.

Qualifications

• Willing to work towards Level 3 Fire Safety / Fire Risk Assessment (NEBOSH Certificate).
• Requires 5 GCSEs including Maths and English.
• Excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong organisation, prioritisation and attention to detail during surveys.
• Proficient with MS Word and MS Excel; update stock database.
• Able to drive and visit PCC Housing areas; carry equipment.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of Fire Risk Assessments and Fire Door inspections.
• Carry out PIB box inspections across housing and corporate portfolios.
• Provide remedial actions and recommendations.
• Liaise with customers, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records and stock databases.
