Job summary

Portsmouth City Council is seeking a Fire Risk Assessor to join Building Services within the Building Safety Team to deliver Fire Risk Assessments and support fire safety works across our portfolio.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in fire risk assessments for complex buildings, excellent communication skills, and a detail‑driven approach. You will work with internal and external stakeholders and contribute to ongoing safety improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 4 qualification in Fire Safety / fire risk assessment (e.g., Level 4 Diploma).
• Member grade with the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM) and ongoing CPD activities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver fire risk assessments for buildings within the portfolio.
• Support delivery of fire safety works across the portfolio.
• Communicate findings clearly to stakeholders and drive safety improvements.
