Job summary

Blue Zoo is seeking a Blender Lighting and Compositing Artist to define mood and atmosphere for characters, props and environments. You will create lighting, finesse colour in compositing, and balance highest quality with deadlines.

Work closely with the Creative Lead, tweak light rigs and render setups, and update render settings for Cycles or Eevee, while collaborating across departments to resolve production challenges.

Qualifications

• Experience using Blender for lighting and compositing.
• Ability to tweak lighting rigs, render setups and compositing templates.
• Understanding of a 3D production pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Use lighting setups in Blender to match a specific creative brief or vision, including adjusting light types, intensities and colour
• Work closely with your Creative Lead in creating lighting setups if required
• Tweaking provided light rigs, render set-ups and compositing templates to achieve the required look of your shot
• Updating render settings to optimise the efficiency of renders within Cycles or Eevee engines
• Monitoring your renders to ensure they are within a given render time budget
• Collaborate across departments to address production challenges, clearly communicating with teammates both within and outside of L&C to move projects forward
• Problem solving to fix errors and glitches and addressing notes efficiently
• Manage your time effectively to meet shot deadlines, proactively flagging any potential delays with your Creative Lead and Production as early as possible
• Take direction constructively and implement feedback from your Creative Lead or Director with a positive, solution-focused mindset
