Job summary

Eurovia Surfacing is seeking an experienced Bituminous Surfacing Supervisor to join its growing operations team in Grays, UK. You will oversee machine surfacing works across highway projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and high-quality delivery, including HRA and PCC operations.

The role requires proven supervision experience, strong leadership, and a solid understanding of health and safety regulations. A full UK driving licence and CSCS card are essential. Permanent, full-time hours apply.

Qualifications

• Proven experience supervising bituminous machine surfacing works.
• Strong knowledge of Hot Rolled Asphalt (HRA) and Pre-Coated Chippings (PCC) operations.
• Experience working on highways, local authority, or major infrastructure projects.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
• SSSTS or SMSTS qualification preferred.
• CSCS card essential.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Supervise bituminous machine surfacing operations on highway and infrastructure projects.
• Manage surfacing gangs, subcontractors, plant, and material resources.
• Ensure works are completed safely, on programme, and in accordance with client specifications.
• Oversee the laying of Hot Rolled Asphalt (HRA) and the application of Pre-Coated Chippings (PCC).
• Monitor quality, productivity, and compliance throughout project delivery.
• Conduct site briefings, toolbox talks, and safety inspections.
• Liaise with Contracts Managers, clients, and operational teams to coordinate work activities.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
• Complete site records, reports, and daily documentation.
