Job summary

Eurovia Surfacing in the UK is seeking an experienced Bituminous Surfacing Supervisor to oversee machine surfacing works across highway and infrastructure projects. You will lead site teams, coordinate plant and subcontractors, and ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to high quality standards.

The role requires proven supervision of bituminous machine surfacing, strong knowledge of Hot Rolled Asphalt (HRA) and Pre-Coated Chippings (PCC), and a full UK driving licence.

Eurovia Surfacing is seeking an experienced Bituminous Surfacing Supervisor to join its growing operations team. This role will be responsible for overseeing machine surfacing works across a range of highway maintenance and infrastructure projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will be a knowledgeable surfacing professional with proven experience supervising bituminous machine surfacing operations and a strong understanding of Hot Rolled Asphalt (HRA) and Pre-Coated Chippings (PCC).

Duties

• Supervise bituminous machine surfacing operations on highway and infrastructure projects.
• Manage surfacing gangs, subcontractors, plant, and material resources.
• Ensure works are completed safely, on programme, and in accordance with client specifications.
• Oversee the laying of Hot Rolled Asphalt (HRA) and the application of Pre-Coated Chippings (PCC).
• Monitor quality, productivity, and compliance throughout project delivery.
• Conduct site briefings, toolbox talks, and safety inspections.
• Liaise with Contracts Managers, clients, and operational teams to coordinate work activities.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
• Complete site records, reports, and daily documentation.

Person Specification

• Proven experience supervising bituminous machine surfacing works.
• Strong knowledge of Hot Rolled Asphalt (HRA) and Pre-Coated Chippings (PCC) operations.
• Experience working on highways, local authority, or major infrastructure projects.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
• SSSTS or SMSTS qualification preferred.
• CSCS card essential.
• Full UK driving licence.

Hours: Full Time - 45 - Monday to Friday
