Job summary

Clearfield Recruitment are seeking an experienced Surfacing Supervisor to join an independent contractor in Suffolk. You will oversee day-to-day surfacing operations and manage site teams to ensure work is delivered to required standards with a strong focus on safety.

The role requires a background in asphalt surfacing and highways, with CSCS and plant operator tickets. Temp-to-perm opportunity offering progression within the project portfolio across Suffolk.

Qualifications

• Experience as Surfacing Supervisor/Foreman in highways or civil engineering.
• Valid CSCS Card.
• Relevant Plant Operator tickets.
• Strong knowledge of asphalt and surfacing operations.

Responsibilities

• Supervising surfacing gangs and subcontractors on site.
• Coordinating daily workloads, labour, plant and materials.
• Overseeing asphalt and road surfacing works.
• Ensuring works are completed safely and to programme.
• Reading and working from drawings and specifications.
• Carrying out site inspections and quality checks.
• Ensuring RAMS, permits and site documentation are followed.
• Liaising with clients, engineers and other site personnel.
• Supporting the Site/Contracts Manager with project delivery.

Clearfield Recruitment are currently working with an independent surfacing contractor who are looking to recruit an experienced Surfacing Supervisor to join their growing team in Suffolk.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced supervisor with a strong background in asphalt surfacing and highways works who is looking for a long-term position with an established independent contractor.

As Surfacing Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day surfacing operations, managing site teams and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standard.

Responsibilities

• Supervising surfacing gangs and subcontractors on site
• Coordinating daily workloads, labour, plant and materials
• Overseeing asphalt and road surfacing works
• Ensuring works are completed safely and to programme
• Reading and working from drawings and specifications
• Carrying out site inspections and quality checks
• Ensuring all RAMS, permits and site documentation are followed
• Liaising with clients, engineers and other site personnel
• Supporting the Site/Contracts Manager with project delivery

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Surfacing Supervisor / Foreman within highways or civil engineering
• Valid CSCS Card
• Relevant Plant Operator tickets
• Strong knowledge of asphalt and surfacing operations
• Experience managing gangs and site activities
• Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements
• Able to work independently and make decisions on site
• Strong communication and leadership skills
