Job summary

You will support the Laboratory Manager, maintain quality standards, and train staff across grades while ensuring service continuity and patient safety. This post is based at Bedford Hospital, with a 37.5-hour week.

Qualifications

• Significant microbiology experience and quality management understanding.
• Experience training staff across all grades.
• HCPC registration and IBMS training focus on quality management.

Responsibilities

• Provide HCPC-registered biomedical scientist duties ensuring safe diagnostic service.
• Support Laboratory Management Team in delivering a cohesive, high-quality service.
• Contribute to ISO 15189 compliance and quality documentation.
• Develop and implement SOPs using Q-Pulse Document Management Module.
• Promote continuous quality improvement across the department.
