Job summary

SES Technology in Sunderland is seeking a Senior Bid Manager / Pre-Construction Manager to lead all aspects of bid processes for data centres and advanced manufacturing projects. The role involves capture planning, solution design, quality responses, pricing and presentations, with a focus on turning technical concepts into a compelling client proposal.

The ideal candidate will coordinate with across the business to align commercial, technical and operational inputs, and support governance

Senior Bid Manager / Pre-Construction Manager – Data Centres & Advanced Manufacturing

Are you an experienced Construction and / or MEP Pre-Construction or Bid Manager who enjoys bringing people together to shape clear, compelling and work winning proposals? SES Technology are looking for someone with solid experience in bid management within the construction and / or MEP sector. Do you have experience in bidding data centre projects or similar complex high-tech built-environments, if so, we'd like to speak to you!

The core question is: Do you know how to turn technical ideas into an offer that resonates with clients to secure new growth?

In this role, you'll lead all elements of the bid process (capture planning, solution, quality response, commercial/pricing, presentations) from early engagement through to final submission. Instead of simply coordinating documents, you'll help shape the narrative: What matters most to this client? What's the clearest way to explain our methodology? How do we ensure our commercial, operational and technical inputs all tell one joined‑up story? You'll work closely with colleagues across the business to bring clarity, structure and direction to each bid, ensuring every aspect is thought through and aligned to a robust win strategy. You will also support our operational teams to satisfy the businesses governance requirements during the PCSA / ECI periods of large value projects.

The role is based in our Doxford Park office in Sunderland. As you will be leading bids across the UK there will also be a requirement to regularly travel to/work from other offices, for example London or Birmingham.
