Job summary

Corevia Search is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a remote-first role across the UK. You will own major parts of a platform handling thousands of transactions per second with ~50ms latency, driving architecture and production readiness.

You will design distributed systems, work with Kafka/ Pub/Sub/ RabbitMQ, and contribute to engineering standards while mentoring others. Career path toward Staff/Engineering Manager is supported.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of software engineering experience with a focus on backend systems.
• Proven experience designing and building distributed systems at scale.
• Strong experience with messaging or streaming platforms (Kafka, Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ).
• Proficient programming in Go, Rust or Java.
• Deep understanding of concurrency, latency, scalability and system design.
• Experience owning services in high-volume production environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems.
• Design event-driven architectures and messaging pipelines for heavy load.
• Make key architectural decisions and drive production implementation.
• Set engineering standards for performance, testing and reliability.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and raise team standards.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership on technical direction.
