Affirm is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to own quarterly goals and lead engineers in a remote-first role across the UK. You will collaborate with product, design and analytics, shaping delivery while solving complex, high-availability systems on AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
• Experience with Python or Kotlin and distributed systems.
• Owns delivery plans with elegant, simple and extensible design.

Responsibilities

• Own quarterly goals for the team and lead engineers through ambiguity.
• Collaborate with product, design and analytics to align on decisions.
• Identify and solve project, process or tech issues proactively.
