Job summary

Spectrum IT Recruitment is working with a global SaaS provider to recruit a Senior Site Reliability Engineer for its Azure cloud platform in Southampton, offering a hybrid work arrangement.

You will own observability, automation and reliability, lead on incident investigations, and collaborate with Cloud Operations, DevOps and Engineering teams.

The role focuses on Azure, Kubernetes (AKS), and building scalable, secure cloud solutions with strong emphasis on monitoring, metrics and cost controls.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting production cloud platforms.
• Strong Azure hands-on expertise.
• Kubernetes/AKS production experience.
• Platform engineering, provisioning and observability.
• Create custom metrics, dashboards and alerts for microservices.
• Scripting in PowerShell, Python or C#.
• Infrastructure as Code with Bicep, ARM or Terraform.
• Git and version-control experience.
• SQL Server, Elasticsearch knowledge; YAML/JSON formats.

Responsibilities

• Protect and improve production environments as part of the SRE team.
• Manage a backlog of reliability, scalability and operational improvements.
• Lead investigations into outages and performance issues.
• Develop automation to replace repetitive operational tasks.
• Design monitoring, alerting and dashboards across cloud platforms.
• Support and improve AKS-based Kubernetes environments.
• Contribute to cloud architecture, scoping and scalable platform solutions.
• Ensure security, governance and compliance requirements are met.
