Job summary

The Nottingham Building Society is seeking a Lead Azure Site Reliability Engineer to drive the reliability and performance of our Azure platforms. You will champion SRE practices, mentor engineers, and lead the adoption of modern automation and observability.

You will design resilient cloud architectures, implement robust monitoring, and guide teams toward secure, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud solutions to support thousands of users and dozens of sites.

Qualifications

Hands-on Azure and cloud platform experience.

Responsibilities

Lead Azure platform reliability for production services with high availability and resilience.
Define, implement, and continuously improve SRE practices.
Design resilient cloud architectures with DR and business continuity built in.
Drive observability and performance using monitoring tools to maximise service health.
Automate at scale with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and modern CI/CD pipelines.
Develop and evolve containerised environments including AKS and Kubernetes.
Optimize cost, security, governance and standards across Azure services.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers.
