Job summary

The Nottingham Building Society is seeking a Lead Azure Site Reliability Engineer to drive resilience, performance, and availability of Azure platforms. You will champion SRE practices, guide reliability improvements, and lead modern operating standards to support 500+ users and 50+ sites.

You will mentor engineers, shape cloud strategy, and collaborate across teams to deliver dependable services while embedding security and governance in every solution.

Qualifications

• Azure, ITIL, Microsoft or cloud certifications are desirable.
• Experience delivering enterprise-scale technology environments.
• Strong problem-solving and incident-management skills.
• Ability to communicate complex tech concepts to mixed audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead Azure Platform Reliability and ensure high availability and performance.
• Champion SRE practices and drive proactive reliability improvements.
• Design resilient cloud architectures with DR, backup and failover.
• Drive observability using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and Application Insights.
• Automate at scale with Terraform and modern CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop and evolve container platforms (AKS and Kubernetes).
• Optimise cost, security and governance across Azure services.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers.
