Job summary

Harvey Nash Group is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to shape cloud strategy and lead a Managed Services team across Leeds, Manchester and Scotland. The role combines technical leadership, client engagement and hands-on engineering with an on-call rota.

You will mentor engineers, drive best practices, and influence technology roadmaps for secure, scalable cloud-native platforms. You will engage with senior stakeholders, support pre-sales activities and contribute to governance across multiple

Qualifications

• Senior DevOps, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure or Technical Architecture experience.
• Strong background in large-scale cloud transformation programmes.
• Expertise with AWS and modern cloud architecture patterns.
• Advanced Python scripting and automation experience.
• Strong Kubernetes experience in AWS environments.
• Extensive experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Deep knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, Terraform.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, governance and operations.
• Proven experience engaging with senior stakeholders.
• Experience in consultancy or client-facing environments.
• Leadership, mentoring and coaching skills.
• Experience in Agile delivery environments.

Responsibilities

• Define and promote DevOps architecture standards and technical strategy.
• Advise senior stakeholders on technology roadmaps and transformation programmes.
• Lead complex cloud and infrastructure engagements across multiple client environments.
• Provide technical leadership and governance for cloud-native platforms and managed services.
• Mentor and coach engineers and support career development.
• Contribute to pre-sales activities, proposals and solution design.
• Represent the organisation through thought leadership and industry events.
• Support hiring and help develop a high-performing engineering practice.
