Job summary

Harvey Nash Group is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to shape cloud strategy and lead a Managed Services team across Leeds, Manchester and Scotland. The role combines technical leadership, client engagement and hands-on engineering with an on-call rota.

Qualifications

• Senior DevOps, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure or Technical Architecture experience.
• Strong background in large-scale cloud transformation programmes.
• Expertise with AWS and modern cloud architecture patterns.
• Advanced Python scripting and automation experience.
• Strong Kubernetes experience in AWS environments.
• Extensive experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Deep knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, Terraform.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, governance and operations.
• Proven experience engaging with senior stakeholders.
• Experience in consultancy or client-facing environments.
• Leadership, mentoring and coaching skills.
• Experience in Agile delivery environments.

Lead DevOps Engineer - Leeds/Manchester/Scotland (2 days per week in the office)

The Opportunity

We're working with a growing digital consultancy that delivers complex cloud and software solutions for a range of public and private sector clients. As part of continued growth, they are looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to join their Managed Services team.

This is a highly influential role combining technical leadership, client engagement, consulting, and hands‑on engineering. You’ll help shape cloud strategy, provide architectural guidance, mentor engineers, and work closely with senior stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, cloud-native platforms.

You’ll also play a key role in developing engineering best practices, supporting business growth activities, and driving technical excellence across multiple client engagements.

Please note that this role includes participation in an on‑call rota.
