Job summary

Microlise is seeking a Senior AWS Data Engineer on a 12-month fixed term contract to build the data foundations behind customer‑facing analytics and AI products.

This hands‑on role will turn operational, telematics, customer and third‑party data into trusted, reusable data products for dashboards, APIs, self‑service analytics, ML and future generative AI services, using AWS lakehouse patterns and governance‑by‑design principles.

Qualifications

• Hands-on data engineering experience on AWS
• Strong SQL, dbt and Python skills
• Experience with data governance and Data Mesh concepts

Responsibilities

• Deliver customer-facing analytics data products on the new platform
• Build AWS lakehouse pipelines using S3, Glue, Athena, Lake Formation, DMS and Step Functions
• Transform operational data into governed, reusable products for dashboards, APIs and analytics
• Establish data quality, lineage, metadata and access controls
• Collaborate with architecture, platform engineering and analytics teams to create scalable delivery patterns
