Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer in Hampshire to lead hands‑on design and development of avionics for an unmanned aircraft platform. You will own designs from first principles through prototype build, qualification and into production, collaborating with systems, software and manufacturing teams.

The role focuses on analogue/digital/power electronics, high‑reliability PCB layouts, and certification to DO‑160/DO‑254.

Qualifications

• Degree: 2:1 or above in a STEM discipline.
• Strong practical experience across electronics design, prototyping and productisation.
• Experience in SPICE modelling/simulation and high‑reliability PCB design.
• Familiarity with EMC/EMI-aware design and DO-160/DO-254 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop avionics electronics (analogue, digital and power) for aerospace hardware.
• Take designs from concept to product with robustness and cost-optimisation.
• Support qualification/certification activities to DO-160/DO-254 and related tests.
• Collaborate with manufacturing for production support and continuous improvement.
• Support integration, field trials and flight tests (UAVs).
• Contribute to R&D workstreams advancing platform capability.
