Job summary

WSP in the UK is seeking an Associate/Associate Director to lead environmental consents for aviation projects, guiding planning, EIA work and environmental studies across the UK.

You will work within a supportive, collaborative team, delivering strategic environmental advice, engaging stakeholders, and managing bids and project delivery with senior clients. The role supports hybrid working and career progression toward chartership.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience delivering Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for aviation schemes.
• Familiarity with UK planning regimes (Town and Country Planning Act; Planning Act 2008).
• Knowledge of Habitats Regulations Assessment and environmental permit applications.
• Strong client communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage complex projects.
• Experience contributing to bids, proposals and securing new work.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental contributions across project designs and assessments.
• Direct and lead projects including recruitment, bidding, and delivery.
• Grow aviation sector offering with sector leads and client account managers.
• Provide environmental advice to clients and project teams.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and public consultation processes.
• Ensure high standards of quality, safety and performance across projects.
