Job summary

Ocado Group in Purfleet-on-Thames is seeking an experienced Engineer to join our largest operational Customer Fulfilment Centre. You will be the principal contact for critical technical issues, ensuring the operation runs smoothly through proactive maintenance and improvement work on conveyor networks, lifts and cranes.

With 5+ years of engineering experience (ideally FMCG), you will bring strong technical skills, a safety-first mindset, and a degree or Level 3 qualification.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering experience with strong technical competency.
• Ideally FMCG background in fast-paced environments.
• Computer literate, eager to learn new skills, and bring a creative, solution-focused mindset to problem-solving.
• Health and safety is a top priority, and you’re trained to work safely at height.
• You hold at least a Level 3 qualification or a relevant engineering degree.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the principal point of contact for critical technical issues at the site.
• Support proactive maintenance and improvement works to keep operations running smoothly.
• Work across equipment such as conveyor networks, lifts and cranes to optimise performance.
