Job summary

Ocado Group is seeking an Engineering Team Manager to lead the Engineering team at our Customer Fulfilment Centre in Luton. You will drive performance, allocate workload, and steer engineers, technicians and trainees to deliver high standards in a fast-paced automated FMCG environment.

The role requires hands-on engineering expertise (mechanical and electrical) and strong leadership to make critical decisions, ensure safety and maintain 24/7 operations.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineers in automated FMCG environments.
• Ability to make critical decisions in a fast-paced role.
• Strong knowledge of automation hardware and software.
• Understanding of production, picking and storage MHE systems.
• Willingness to work in a 24/7 shift pattern, including long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Engineers, Technicians and Trainees and drive their development.
• Allocate workload and monitor performance, addressing gaps.
• Ensure pace, accuracy and high standards across the CFC.
• Handle disciplinary issues and safety compliance.
