Job summary

Ocado Group in Erith is seeking an Engineering Technician to ensure the smooth operation of our automated Customer Fulfilment Centre. You’ll diagnose faults, perform repairs and planned maintenance on state-of-the-art robotics and control systems, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

This hands-on role supports a 24/7 operation, with 12-hour shifts across days, nights and weekends, requiring practical problem-solving and a safe, collaborative approach in a high-tech environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated understanding of automation hardware and software with control systems preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.
• Good communication and organisational abilities; able to prioritise and share knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Respond to engineering faults and diagnose issues to minimise downtime.
• Carry out planned servicing and repairs to keep equipment in top condition.
• Contribute to proactive improvement projects to boost reliability and efficiency.
• Support a 24/7 operation with 12-hour shift patterns across days, nights and weekends.
